It's all about the ride, it's all about soul...
Founded in 2002 in a small warehouse in the Scottsdale Airpark, Soul Cycles original goal was to design and produce small batches of rigid niche market aluminum frames and offer them at reasonable prices. Since then the company has moved three times and is now settled comfortably in an Industrial park in Tempe, still designing and producing frames, but combining the niche with mainstream and working with CrMo as well as aluminum.
Soul Cycles works mainly on the three following principles:
1. Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.
Useless complexity serves no one. More parts typically equal more problems and cost for both us and the end customer. A shock only moves in one direction, the goal is to get that shock to move ideally for the desired application, while retaining frame stiffness and good component functionality. To do this you typically don't need a dozen machined parts and 2 dozen bolts.
2. Make it multi-purpose if applicable.
One bike can support multiple set ups without going overboard on the "cheese" factor. For example a singlespeed can also be designed to function as a geared rig, essentially turning it into 2 frames. A bike can have both v-brake mounts and disc mounts without looking clunky.
3. Design it to be easily serviced by the end user.
Every frame can be serviced by the end user with basic tools. No unusual proprietary and semi-proprietary standards. 25mm front hub axles? 165mm rear hubs? Proprietary shocks? Forget it. Soul wants you to be able to build our frame however you want. Choice is a wonderful thing.
My Next Bike honored to be the authorized Philippine distributor of Soul Cycles. Soul's frames have been hitting the price/performance bullseye in the USA for some time now, and we're stoked to have them on Philippine shores. Wanna quiz us on these frames? Drop us an email!
Dillinger G3
The Soul Cycles Dillinger is crafted out of Easton Ultralite Aluminum tubing, and is a truly do-it-all 29er frame. An eccentric bottom bracket systems allows you to tighten up your chain for singlespeed use, and the included derailleur hanger gives you the geared option as well. Also included is a smooth-riding Soul Cycles Dillinger cromoly fork, with an axle-to-crown height that mimics a 100mm suspension fork.
